Texas is in the midst of a record drought. In 2011, it set the U.S. state record for the hottest-ever recorded summer, leading to the state’s worst-ever fire season, heat-related deaths, and billions of dollars in economic damage. In the midst of these facts, it is unconscionable that the state continues to suppress science, denying its citizens–and in particular children and their teachers–the ability to understand and counteract the current and future threat of climate change.
